APCA Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival

APCA Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a popular lunar harvest festival celebrated by many people in the Asian community. One of the cultural customs accompanying the celebration is the eating of mooncakes. Mooncakes are round or rectangular pastries made with a thin pastry crust and often contain filling made from lotus seed paste. Round egg yolks are often embedded inside the pastry. Since mooncake eating is a tradition that is enjoyed by many people during this time, APCA invited members for a lunch to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and to sample many different types of mooncakes. Photos from the event have been posted on our web site. Thank you everyone for participating in this mooncake eating tradition.

How does your family celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival? What's your favorite type of mooncake? We would love to hear from you!
